Dr Sierp is one of Australia's leading Biofouling Inspectors, developing his skills after gaining experience designing Australia's Ballast Water, Biofouling Policy, In-water Cleaning Policy and Regulations. Dr Sierp was Chair of the Marine Pest Sectoral Committee (MPSC) and a range of National sub-committees.  He is an experienced Biofouling Inspector for both international vessels and domestic vessels from small vessels to bulk carriers. He is  accredited by the Australian Diver's Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) for commercial diving. He has been accredited by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to conduct a range of commercial engineering vessel surveys on the following vessel classes: 

  1. Passenger Vessels
  2. Non-passenger Vessels
  3. Fishing Vessels
  4. Hire and Drive Vessels
